Privacy Policy

What this site collects, what it doesn't, and why.

This policy explains what information blavall.net collects, why, and how it's handled. The short version: I collect as little as possible, I don't sell anything, and I try to be straightforward about all of it.

This site is operated by Brian Lavall.

Analytics

This site uses Umami, a self-hosted, open-source analytics tool. Umami is privacy-respecting: it does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. The data it collects (page views, general traffic patterns) stays on infrastructure I control and is never shared with third parties.

No ad networks. No tracking pixels. No Google Analytics.

Subscribers

If you subscribe, the website collects your name and email address when you sign up and uses it to send you updates. That's it. Your email is stored with Resend (my email delivery provider) and is never sold, shared, or used for any purpose other than sending you things you've asked to receive.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing [email protected]. Your address will be removed promptly.

Contact & Comments

If you reach out via the contact form or email, I receive and store your message and contact information for the purpose of responding to you. These messages aren't shared, aren't added to any mailing list without your consent, and aren't used for any other purpose.

Cookies

Umami is cookieless, so this site does not set cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. Some functional cookies may be set by embedded third-party content if any is present, but the site is designed to minimize third-party embeds.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, I'll update the date at the top and note what changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
