Happy National Lighthouse Day! Today seems like a good day to share some photos from a sunrise trip I took to Point Judith and Galilee about a month ago. On my summer vacation, I woke up at 3:00am to head to Point Judith for a 5:15am sunrise at Point Judith Lighthouse. This is one of my favorite spots in Rhode Island to shoot, and it had been a few years since my last sunrise shoot there.

I ended up arriving around 4:45am so I had some time to setup and catch the early morning light from the breakwater before the sun came up.

Once the sun made it’s way above the horizon, I moved a bit closer to the lighthouse near the Point Judith Fisherman’s Memorial for a few more photos.

Then, I took the short drive over to Galilee for some early morning photos of the port waking up for a summer day.

As you can see, the results from this day definitely made the early morning wake up worth it. Thanks for reading, and I’m excited to share more summer shoots soon!
