I’m excited to announce that I have five new photographs being showcased in the AS220 Flat File Project for 2021. “Summer Terrace Nights, 2020”, “Autumn in Blackstone Gorge, 2020”, “Golden Fall Morning in Lincoln Woods, 2020”, “Fall Morning at Olney Pond, 2020” and “Autumn at Olney Pond, 2020” will be in the flat files for this year and available to buy on the AS220 Art + Editions online store until sold. Thank you to Neal, Paris, and AS220 for this opportunity to continue to showcase my work through AS220! The five photographs are displayed below along with a little backstory to each photo.

Summer Terrace Nights, 2020.

This photo came out of a nighttime trip to Prospect Terrace Park in July 2020 where I originally wanted to see if it was possible to get some shots of the Comet NEOWISE over Providence. While the angle didn’t line up to get the comet over the skyline from this spot, I ended up with this shot which was one of my favorites of 2020. The dark tones and shadows from the fence and trees definitely gives off the haunted College Hill vibes that have inspired many artists over the years.

Autumn in Blackstone Gorge, 2020.

In October 2020 I took a ride up to Blackstone Gorge on the border between Woonsocket, RI and Blackstone, MA to explore the trails along the gorge. This is a spot I’ve been wanting to check out for a while, and it was worth the trip. It was a perfect fall afternoon near peak colors, and I captured this long exposure of the river flowing through the Gorge. The trails along the gorge make for some great views of the river, and I’ll definitely be making a point to get back there again this coming year. This photo ended up being my favorite one I captured in 2020.

Golden Fall Morning in Lincoln Woods, 2020.
Fall Morning at Olney Pond, 2020.
Autumn at Olney Pond, 2020.

These three photographs all came from a two hour period on the same October morning in Lincoln Woods State Park. Lincoln Woods is probably my favorite place in the state to shoot in the fall, and believe it or not, this was the first year I made it there for a fall sunrise. The golden light of the early morning sun combined with the vibrant colors of peak fall foliage made for a bunch of amazing shots, and these three ended up being my favorite. They even look great together as a set!
